Sai’s Compassion and Grace are Limitless
From:
Sri Sathya Sai
Children,
The ultimate goal of life is God’s Presence; life (to be reborn) is essential. The secret of life lies only in treading the path of dharma. Executing one’s task in keeping with Dharma, all sins should be destroyed. The presence of the primordial source of Sai’s feet should be attained.
The compassion and grace of Swami are limitless, endless and infinite. They are selfless. But your mind and intellect are in seed state and so you are not able to understand this. You have not been able to live up to your words. This has become your habitual mistake. This is why I have, on innumerable occasions taught you, shown you and led you by extending the hand of friendship and I am still handing it out.
You are like a rat, which is lured into falling into the trap set for it by the smell of the onion. The worldly desires and pleasures are waiting and trying to lure you, to deceive you and to drag you into their dirt pit. And you have become subservient to them and letting yourself become imprisoned in the pit. It is the matter of extreme sadness that you are drifting away from the words of full grace and hands full of affection, which give you, fill you and thrill you in Nityanandam, Paramanandam, Yoganandam, Amritanandam, and Madhuranandam.
The world itself is like that. When a beggar famished to the extremes, cries out in a most pitiable tone “Amma, Amma” “Hunger, Hunger” even a handful of rice is not given to him. Instead, a basketful of abuses is hurled at him and he is driven away, beaten in the process, if necessary.
On the other hand, an officer carrying out his duty (official), when he forces and sits upon one’s head to pay the income tax, one is prepared to sell the house and lands and pay the officer in the most obliging manner. Today seeing you in such an identical state, I am filled with great sense of pity. On innumerable occasions I have told you and pleaded with you with words full of compassion and grace and love — “Boys, listen to these words, listen!” But alas! You have set them aside like the words of wind. You have succumbed to worldly activities. Just as you sell precious gem for a piece of coal, which is burned and charred, you are selling Sai’s words for worldly things.
Considering you to be Mine, I have for the last four years looked after you as I would My beat, loved you, taken you unto Me, told you and corrected you, and you out of your ignorance are covering the gem of My heart with dirty, filthy cloth of transgressing Swami’s commands. This is your misfortune.
I have acted and looked after you in all possible ways. I hope that one day you will recognize and understand Sai Tattwa (that which is truth) and behave accordingly. I am blessing you. May you prosper. May you become ideals to others by acquiring good name and by your good actions. Beyond this I need not tell you anything special. I have told you all that has to be told in many ways and on many occasions. There is nothing new to be added.
My words have turned out to be objects of repulsion to you. Sai never likes to acquire fame through superficial means. The Sai principle is to express what is in the heart and to give the heart. And now it is up to you. Had you been yearning and longing for Swami, you would not have lost Swami in the distance. It is now clear that you come to Sai Krishna in order to quench your Loka trishna (worldly thirst) and not to quench Sai trishna (thirst for Sai Krishna).
Bygones are bygones. Mindful of the present you may prepare yourself adequately for what is to come. I have decided to go to Pashanti Nilayam. As such I had the desire to hand over the gems contained in this letter to you. Considering these words as sugar crystals I am communicating them. Your welfare, your happiness, your noble qualities, these alone will please Sai and fill Sai with happiness.
Blessings,
Baba
