Make Sai Happy

Saradamma (Pedda Bottu)!

Accept blessings. I reached Brindavanam at 7 ½ on that day. Many people assembled here by the time I reached Brindavanam. The work for which I came could not be done due to incessant rains right from the morning. Also people who were expected to come from Bombay, did not arrive. Therefore, there will be a delay of one or two days for me to reach Puttaparthi. Chatterji had come from there and briefed about the work going on. You people do the assigned duties properly. There is some change in women folks. They are taking up work even without assigning. That is of course good. But there is no change in men at all. If at all there is a change, it is for the good. Perhaps, negligence is the cause behind this. Baba doesn’t believe in compulsion. Had there been devotion and care, there could not have been any scope for deviating from direction or for callousness. Culture (good breeding) is necessary for anything. Those who do not understand Sai’s philosophy will undergo such topsy turvies. It is their fate. What anybody can do about it?

“What is the use of so many studies?

Can anyone avert the effects of writing on forehead (fate)

When bad time reaches the head

The intellect gets dried up and hardened”

The proof of the above words can be found at our Prasanthi Nilayam. “Ksheene punye marthya lokam visanthi.” Had their merits been developed, their fruits would not have dwindled. Having obtained Sai’s proximity as a fruit of their past merits, they could have endeavoured to obtain the wealth of Grace from Sai and could have multiplied their benedictions. In the absence of this kind of endeavour, they could remain with Swami only as long as the reserve of their merits lasted. They were lost as it dwindled. This is the present state of the dwellers at Prasanthi. Even now, it is not too late. There are no limits or barriers when tread on the proper path. What kind of foolish people they are who had turned their lives into a mess? One may fill it up with anything when the head is made clean and empty.

“Anything can be filled in a head that is empty

Is it possible to fill when it is already stuffed with sundry?

Can it be emptied as it is full of Kali’s preachings?

Without emptying it, could merits be inducted?

Like a tree without fruit, a cow without milk,

What is the use of birth and death?

People are born to know this.”

What is that you have learnt, dear, if you die without knowing about the fruits (of deeds)? What have they gained? Are these not the deeds that are disliked by Sai, the Knower of Minds?

Convey Blessings to your fellow members. Carry out the programmes taking them as your duty. Make Sai happy. That Bliss is the happiness to the world.

“Oh the mother of the world! If I am deserted by You, I shall be belittled in the world, Oh Mother Sai! Without you, I am nothing to this world!”
